The two day course is designed to give you the knowledge and skills needed to utilise Micromine’s Mine Planning tools. The course has been created and subsidised for students and mining engineers who are presently unemployed and keen to gain some valuable professional development.
• Use Micromine’s Pit Optimiser to optimise a real life resource model for a potential open pit project.
• Use Micromine’s Pit Design to design an open pit.
• Create an optimised mine schedule.
The course commences by utilising the Pit Optimisation module and explores how the Micromine 2016 Optimiser can be used to measure the feasibility of a deposit. You will be able to explore a real life resource model to determine the location and shape of an open pit which will provide the maximum economic value.
Participants will also have the opportunity to use the Optimiser for both regular and sub-blocked block models; specify variable costs; account for multiple elements, processing methods and different geotechnical domains.In addition to this attendees will learn how to perform a sensitivity analysis on the price and pit shell analysis to identify an optimal pit.
Participants will then rely on the results of the optimisation process to prepare a functional pit design by accounting for: geotechnical design constraints, bench geometry with respect to minimum mining width, ramp/ haul road construction and variations in design parameters.
Once this process has been completed the design will be prepared for mine scheduling to realise an optimal mining schedule. Participants will learn how to interactively produce a pit shells solid and mining tasks, automatically build spatial dependencies and use optimisation tool for different mining scenarios.
