Dozers, Scrapers and Graders

Pitram Machine Guidance for dozers, scrapers and graders is based on the MineGrade™ solution developed by Carlson Software, a US-based company providing high-performance hardware and software for surveying and machine control. Carlson Software’s machine guidance hardware and software products have been integrated into the Pitram solution under an OEM agreement between MICROMINE and Carlson Software.

The agreement gives MICROMINE’s customers access to a proven technology from a leading supplier and innovator.

The solution eliminates the need for grade staking and survey crew, improving productivity by significantly reducing re-handle and rework.

The MineGrade™ machine guidance systems require only one sensor through their use of Carlson’s leading MC Pro Vx6 3D machine control sensor. The sensor offers six components integrated into one compact, rugged and easy-to-use unit that provides efficient machine guidance and control operations.

Available exclusively from Carlson to its authorised partners, the MC Pro Vx6 is just 66.9 cm long, 20.9 cm wide and 12.2 cm high and weighs just 2.3 kg, making the sensor completely portable and easy to install. The rugged IP69K unit provides GPS plus GLONASS L1/L2 high precision positioning and heading – up to 20Hz, along with dual axis slope.

The unit was developed to provide total simplicity of operation and installation, yet to have the most advanced features. It easily mounts to a dozer, compactor, excavator, drill, scraper shovel and more. The Vx6 connects with just one cable, thus has less points of failure. This increases its reliability and ease-of-use.

In addition to GPS and GLONASS, the Vx6 is Beidou ready and Omnistar compatible. The MC Pro Vx6 also has an integrated 4SFK RTK UHF radio. This means faster, more reliable RTK corrections while meeting all new FCC regulations. Additional World Radio options are available.

The advanced integration of the MC Pro Vx6 ensures ease of installation. Advanced integration into a single sensor simplifies configuration and troubleshooting.

Continuous guidance and navigation using survey grade High Precision GNSS technology means that Pitram can help to significantly reduce dilution and improve ore-control and elevation-control at a mine site.

If base station correction is too far to reach, for example due to distance to sea, the receiver is compatible with L-Band subscription offering correction at +/- 1m.

Drills

Pitram Machine Guidance for Drills is based on the DrillGrade™ solution developed by Carlson Software, a US-based company providing high-performance hardware and software for surveying and machine control. Carlson Software machine guidance hardware and software products have been integrated into the Pitram solution under an OEM agreement between MICROMINE and Carlson Software. The agreement gives MICROMINE’s customers access to proven technology from a leading supplier and innovator.

The drilling project setting out the drill pattern is delivered to the operator’s computer in digital form over wireless network or manually on a memory key.

On-screen navigation controls help the operator to positioning the drill. No surveying and marking of the drilling pattern on the surface is required.

The operator can monitor drilling parameters while drilling is in progress. As-drilled data for each hole is stored and is available for download and use in general mine planning packages and for blast planning applications.

The drill solution uses high-precision GNSS guidance to accurately navigate drill rig operators to each hole.
