On the weekend of the 2-4 March 2018 the MICROMINE Africa team sponosred the Langer Heinrich 7th Annual Charity golf day. The event was held at The Rossmund Golf Estate in Swakopmund, Namibia.
Every year Langer Heinrich raises funds for a specific area of need within the community. This year the proceeds will go towards building permanent classrooms for a school in Swakopmund. The charity golf day was attended by 108 players, and whilst MICROMINE Africa did not send a team to play, we sent Andrew Osmond and Monray Schoeman to attend the event and sponsor the second hole and prizes for the event.
The hole was setup bright and early on Saturday morning ready to receive the golfers as they teed off. An enjoyable day was had by all, filled with laughs and banter between friends, colleagues and the odd serious golfer. The youngest player in the field was a 7-year-old, he had so much fun, he was still on the practice green hours after the event was finished. By the end of the day the MICROMINE merchandise was worn by so many. The Sunglasses and Can Coolers were the biggest hit.
Final numbers are not in yet, but the event raised in the region of R700 000 for the classroom building project, which is a fantastic achievement.
